Some parents are drawn to simple, natural images focused on connection, while others love gently posed portraits of their baby or the timeless look of a beautifully styled studio setting. Before your session, we'll talk about what you're most drawn to so we can plan a newborn session that reflects what you want to remember about this season.
Natural, Connection-Focused Newborn sessions
If you're drawn to a more relaxed, lifestyle feel, your studio session can focus on your family and your connection with baby in a simple, natural setting. Rather than using a traditional backdrop, we'll use areas of the studio such as the bed or window to create photographs that feel intimate and unposed. I'll gently guide you throughout the session while leaving room for the little interactions that happen naturally.
Gently Styled Studio Newborn Sessions
For parents who love a clean, timeless newborn portrait, The Classic Series offers a simple studio setting designed to keep the focus on your baby and your family. These sessions are a little more polished and gently directed, with options for wrapped or naturally posed baby portraits alongside family photographs.
Studio Sessions are available with either a soft white or warm neutral background, allowing you to choose between a light and airy look, or something with a little more warmth and depth.
Baby Only Sessions
Baby-only portraits can be included in your newborn session, whether you prefer your baby gently wrapped, naturally posed, or simply photographed as they are. I follow your baby's cues rather than forcing a particular pose, allowing us to create beautiful portraits while keeping your baby's comfort at the center of the session.
Newborn sessions are best reserved while you're still pregnant, so we can hold space around your due date. While many families choose to photograph their baby within the first two to three weeks, it isn't too late if your baby has already arrived. Because my approach is natural and baby-led, beautiful newborn photographs can still be created with older newborns. As babies grow, we simply adjust the session to suit their stage — which may mean more awake expressions, natural movement, cuddling and less emphasis on sleepy poses.
You don't have to know exactly what you want your session to look like yet... we can plan that together. All you need to know is that this season is worth remembering.
